See my review on yelp!! Consumer beware! So sad.

Was shut down by EPA for spraying bumpers outside and under a tent of the Lexus dealership. Not so good.

My car was keyed, a few surface scratches that did not go through to the metal on the passenger side. However, although it's an 18 year old car, I have keep it garaged or covered at work throughout the ten years in my possession – in perfect condition. The scratches were not visible unless you were looking in certain lighting, at a certain angle. To me, it was not perfect anymore so I searched for the best shop. Based on reviews and high-end cars I saw there and also the explanation of the process, I chose Color Recon. This choice was against my wife's advice as what she saw from the get-go was glibness. Juan dealt directly with my insurance company telling me he would get the maximum amount for 'my' benefit, and constantly berated them calling them cheap and unwilling to pay. Three different glass companies sent by my insurance company to remove the windshield and replace it after painting refused to deal with this shop. The third one did remove the windshield but refused to go back to deal in any way with this shop. My wife purchased a new windshield from Lexus and personally delivered it. Juan was not thrilled, to say the least, stating he would now have to be responsible for it until it was mounted and advising her to get a lawyer and sue the insurance company. When I called – now a month and a half later – to check on status, I was told it would take a week to put the car back together. After seven weeks, I finally got a call that the car was ready and when my wife went to pick it up and gave him the check, he stormed to the door holding it open for her to leave and asked someone to open the gate for him to store my car, stating she had been told no personal checks were accepted. She had not, in fact, been told. He stated that he knew she would walk out the door and immediately put a stop-payment on the check. She asked if he accepted another form of payment and was able to make the payment. All in all, between Juan's invoice of over $5000, new windshield and rental for seven weeks, the cost was over $7,400. Book value on this car is $4813. Workmanship: While keyed scratches were now gone and the paintless dent removal did remove most dings, the paint on the door and front bumper was not perfectly matched. Also, the door now has a shimmy when opening and closing it which was not there when car was taken in. There is a visible flaw on the trim and the tint on one of the back windows was removed. Juan refuses to take responsibility stating insurance company did not pay for new trim, perfect matching is impossible because entire car was not painted, doesn't know what happened to door and tint was glass company's responsibility. It's interesting that I could not leave this review on Color Recon's website as it could not "verify me as a customer". I would definitely NOT recommend this shop but would urge it's owner to take a class in people skills.

Dear Mr. Soto, I remember when you came asking for an estimate I was very concise and clear about the expectations for your vehicle’s repair. As I told you then; we at Color Recon strive to provide the best results as best humanly possible. Please see the following video that explain in details how expensive painting a car correctly could be... https://youtu.be/acvHQ9uHK3w That was the case with your 1999 Lexus that came with several areas of damage needing repair. I was very specific in pointing to you how expensive it would be to refinish the whole side of the vehicle (specially a 3 stage pearl color finish like yours) and my suggestion was to use your insurance as the best approach to properly repair your vehicle. Additionally, as you know, you know your insurer) declined to pay for my certified glass installer and they decided to send their own low cost technicians to remove & replace the glass. They cracked the windshield damaged your your tint on the side glass and the paint of the car and did not want to take responsibility for fixing it. Even though it was not our responsibility we repaired the damage to the paint and removed the damage window tint they caused at no additional cost to you. Regarding your door’s misalignment. These vehicles are known for having very heavy doors that overtime begin to sag and become misaligned. Your 18 year old Lexus appears to have the original hinges. In our ongoing efforts to please you we will replace the door’s hinges at a discounted labor rate. I have provided a couple I-Net links to see the commonality and difficulty your door poses as well as the process to change the average hinge pins. https://youtu.be/GYw8qdfF-yE https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-1st-gen-1992-2000/38955-problems-with-driver-s-door-hinge-mechanism.html In final, Color Recon did everything we were asked to do and more and did so in a high quality manner. We regret that you are not among the thousands of other Color Recon customers who are completely satisfied with our efforts and we stand ready to resolve your remaining issues however we may.

I was very disappointed with my experience with Color Recon. I went a while back to get an estimate for a cosmetic repair of my lower lip front bumper due to three moderate dents and i was quoted $389 (see picture attached). I went back again today to get an estimate for the same repair because i thought i had lost my original quote. Today I was quoted $689 for the same repair (see picture attached). Somehow the cost had almost doubled! I called Color Recon and spoke with the owner Juan; unfortunately, he was not willing to honor the original estimate, because according to him, the original estimate was only for one side of the bumper. However, the estimate I requested was for the whole bumper. As anyone can clearly see on both estimates the the whole bumper was circled and no distinctions were made about it being left or right. Moreover, why would anyone repair or quote a repair of one side of the bumper and not the other side? I can understand if the price of a repair goes up, it does happen, but almost doubling in cost?! Also, if a business can't stand by a genuine estimate given, what can they stand for? Reply to his response... Mr. Juan, Let me start by saying, Wow! You just responded with one lie after another, I am in disbelief! I told you I’d blackmail you if you didn’t offer me a lower price?! Seriously?! How far are you willing to drag yourself in the gutter before admitting you were wrong? Sorry, but your alternative facts here are not valid. The true facts are: first, I never told you I had lost my original estimate, I told you I couldn’t find it, which I later did. Second, I do not have more damages in the bumper now than what I did when I first sought your quote. What you saw the first time around is the same as what you saw the last time. You either made a mistake on your original quote or you were just plainly trying to rip me off. Third, I never expected you to accept the old estimate, the only reason I brought it up was when you insinuated I was lying about you quoting me $389 to do the repair, which you did. Also, the only reason I waited to do the repair was based on your own advice! You told me to wait until almost the end of my lease to do the repair, which I am doing. You sir are being dishonest and you certainly lack in the integrity department. You obviously have no business doing estimates if you cannot do them properly and honorably. But if you must, when you make a mistake, own up to it! Don’t go online and start spreading lies in order to make you sound better, which by the way, it doesn’t. Nevertheless, I am very happy this happened; first, it exposes people to the kind of bullying and crappy service they might encounter at your business. And second, I was able to find a very reputable place that is doing the repair for only $189, saving me $500 and a headache.

Mr. Marco Lopez, To begin, I must admit you are a man of your word...you told me that if I didn’t offer you a lower price for your repair that you would do your best to harm my shop’s good name and reputation on Internet reviews. This was nothing more than pure blackmail and extortion on your behalf and something I do not bend to. Shame on you! The true facts are; you had come to us for an estimate in 06/08/2015 to repair a minor scrape at the lower right corner of your vehicle’s front bumper cover and I gave you are standard pricing of $389.00 for a minor “cosmetic repair . This repair is for only the repair and spot refinishing the damaged area at the lower right area only and was based upon the amount of visible damages as found at that time. When you returned, on 05-16-17, nearly 2 years later, your bumper had 3-times more damages to its lower right and left areas from subsequent impacts to parking curbs which occurred since our first quote! Both times I have quoted you a very fair and reasonable price to repair your vehicle with the new damages and we stand by it. Please note also within the estimate(s) where it clearly states quotes are only good for 30 days. I believe the fact that we never repaired your vehicle after the initial quote illustrates that you want to spend as little as possible to get your leased BMW repaired before turning it in. This includes your attempt to ‘strong-arm” us into doing it for the prior quote! I can assure you that you will be assessed much more by BMW leasing for the necessary repair once they find the damage. The fact that you posted a copy of our initial estimate (which you stated you had lost) speaks for your integrity and intent. We are extremely proud of our good name and reputation both within our community and on-line and we have earned it one customer at a time...for you to shamelessly attempt to harm us in this manner is unconscionable and I only hope others see your complaint for what it truly is. Second Reply 5/19/2017 I’ll allow the record to speak for itself including the multitude of other true customers whose testimonials regarding their complete satisfaction with me and my company’s integrity and quality of workmanship and service. I believe most will see through your apparent efforts to harm us for whatever reason...I’ll allow the court of public opinion to decide. Have a nice day! BTW: a respected local industry colleague down the road from us provided me an estimate they wrote for you for over $1700. For the same bumper repair and refurbishing 4 wheels. Not sure what you received for $189.00 but I’m sure BMW will let you know when you turn in your lease. Have a nice day!

The only place I'll take my cars. The work that comes out of this place is superb, Juan is also very knowledgeable on the insurance aspect. He helped me deal with the insurance company every step of the way. As usual the insurance company wanted to put after market parts on my car and I was not having that.

I took my brand new Mazda 6 to Color Recon. It had less than 2000 miles on it and got damaged in a hailstorm. Insurance wanted to replace the hood, roof and trunk and repaint. Color Recon advised it could be fixed using paintless dent removal. My car now looks brand new again and it has all the original parts and still has the factory paint. They keep you informed on the progress of the repairs and I only had to pay the insurance deductible. Highly recommend them if you want your vehicle fixed right.

Absolutely amazing service and were extremely helpful and friendly. A few months ago my Mazda3 had a hole in the trunk I needed filled. They were able the fill the hole and match the paint to the rest of my car. My car looked like new and was very clean when I received it. Was a very positive experience and would do any further work on my car here!

Thanks for the feedback Elyse!!

Color recon is a great place to get your car fixed. Juan and Jay did a great job helping me deal with the insurance company. After the insurance companies tried to settle for less. They helped me with telling me everything that I need to know when the insurance company tried writing my car off as a total loss. Color recon works for you. I am glad they helped me they made everything less stressful and never gave up on helping me. My car looks amazing!!! I hope I don't get into another accident but if I do this will be the place I go to get it fixed. Thank you so much Juan and the guys who I didn't meet that took their time to fix my car! Everything looks great!

I am sharing this from an e-mail I received in my follow-up to determine Color Recon's Performance as follows: Barrett, Thank you for getting in touch with me. I apologize for my delayed response. My family and I were out of town for some much needed time away. I am incredibly grateful that you referred me to Color Recon in Orlando. If there was anything positive about the accident I was a part of, it can only be attributed to Color Recon and their services. They were extremely detailed, thorough, and went above and beyond to inform me as their client about my rights during the insurance claims process. I have never viewed any auto body repair shop as an advocate, but I can unreservedly tell others that Color Recon was my personal advocate through every step of the repair process. My vehicle was totaled, which I was in support of due to the nature of the accident, and I was able to negotiate with the insurance company to receive adequate compensation to purchase another vehicle of like kind and quality. Had I taken my vehicle to any other location, I am certain I would not have ended up with the same result. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to Auto Damage Experts or Color Recon. Thank you again for your professional and perfect recommendation. Best, R. Anderson Note form Auto Damage Experts: If you or someone you know has been in an auto accident; be sure to select a repairer who works in your best interest and not that of the insurer. Many insurers will try to steer you to a shop of their choice. Know this: It's your vehicle, your investment and you and your family's personal safety and economic well-being which is at stake...chose your repairer wisely!

Barrett, thank you!

My car needed paint correction and ceramic coating. I did my research and went to Color Recon as my previous two cars have been painted by them. Robert and Juan gave me three levels of paint correction and let me choose the price I wanted to pay. My car is black with years of swirls, halos and “spider webs”. I also went with the latest coating technology called graphene. I am very happy with the results
Hello Edward, We can't thank you enough for being a loyal customer. So glad you are happy with the results, and look forward to continued service with you for many years to come. We enjoyed having you, come by anytime.
